I forgot to mention that I LOVE my ADD. It is what keeps me going. I am a very happy camper in my very special and busy world!
Do you ever feel like a hamster on a wheel running as fast as you can, but going nowhere? That would be me. I was born with a diagnosis of Hyperactivity. Today its called ADD. The docs wanted to put me on Ritalin back then; back then was a long time ago. My parents refused to drug me. I think they regretted that. They didn’t like me very much as I took way too much attention away from my sister…..
I’m looking out the window as I write, and it is raining…again! I prayed for a wet winter and God has provided, and provided. The only problem is we can’t get our calves worked because its too slick in the branding pen. With the amazing abundance of beautiful green grass, our cows are too fat to fit in the alleyway. It is not fun to release a stuck fat cow. I sense work ahead.
I do love this time of…..
It never ceases to amaze me the difference between the east and the west. Steve and I traveled to Washington, D.C. to visit our daughter Andrea and her fiancé, Andrew. We caught the cherry blossom bloom and it was spectacular. Though we didn’t catch a glimpse of the Donald, it was all action anyway. Guys and gals with full body armor; guns at the ready. Their body language exudes,” don’t come between me and my President. ” There is always something…..
It is so beautiful outside; so I’m going to keep this blog short. I NEED to be outside. Being close to the earth and seeing the snow-covered mountains, the grass covered hills dotted with cattle, fills me with joy.
We had a full rainbow over the ranch last Friday and it hung there forever. I didn’t dig for that pot of gold though. I tried that too many times as a child and the rainbow kept moving away from me. …..
While Steve and our son Ty went roping down at San Simeon, I spent the weekend with our daughter, Lindsey, and her husband, Mattley. Mattley marked and branded calves while Lindsey and I spent some serious down time watching gratuitous violence on TV in the form of Lockdown. Watching this show was my first venture into the dark world of depraved predators and criminals as their daily lives are portrayed in prisons across the United States and Mexico, with the…..
I think I’m about recovered from spending a huge roll of fun tickets last weekend. I was on the Rawhide Ride with my husband, Steve. We rode the legs off our horses on our friends’ beautiful ranch near Paso Robles, Calif. About twenty of us indulged in Liar’s Dice, Dominoes, and stories that were maybe true, or NOT. Food at the home ranch and an amazing chuck wagon lunch at some working corrals made my jeans a little tighter. Yum! …..
